Would you like to commission an icon?

It’s simple! Below are some details of what to expect the process will be like as well as client reviews and information to keep in mind.

  • First...

    It all begins with a conversation.

    For a traditional Byzantine style icon, I would like to know what image you’re hoping for, whether that’s a saint’s image or a Biblical scene, so that I can research prototypes.

    We’ll also talk about what size and shape board you’d like, whether you are interested in gilding, when you are hoping to have the icon ready, and any other relevant details.

  • Second...

    Once we have communicated, I will compose an itemized pricing list and share it with you so you can confirm the details of your commission and make any adjustments if necessary. After final approval of pricing, I typically ask for a 40% deposit at the beginning of the process.

  • Third...

    Finally, I will begin work on your icon and keep you apprised of my progress. Upon completion and receipt of the remainder of your payment, I will ship the icon to you.

    Please allow 3-6 months for completion of the work. I will be able to give you a more precise time estimate at our initial communication.
